Considering a "reading corner" for the Huddersfield Librarian Teachmeet. Set off thinking about this by an article I came across the other day in Library and Information Research on Academic Librarians learning to teach.
Not sure how to run it - perhaps ask for suggestions beforehand and try and pull together a set of books / articles for people to flick through on the day? That'd have to go together with an online list that everyone can access and preferably leave comments / additions on.
Will pull something together over the next few weeks...
We'll use this blog to put up details about the Librarian TeachMeet in Huddersfield and link to any material generated afterwards...

Event just announced!
We're holding a Librarian TeachMeet in Huddersfield on 9th Feb 2011.
This will be a really informal opportunity for librarians who teach to get together to share tips and experiences.
If you come, be prepared to give a short (5 mins at most) talk to share an aspect of your teaching. There will be "speed dating" to share tips and a "lucky dip" of teaching goodies to rummage through for inspiration.
The free event will be held at the University of Huddersfield from 14:00 to 16:30 on Wednesday 9th Feb. More details will appear on this blog as and when we decide them!
Please email library.learn@hud.ac.uk if you'd like to attend.
